Wash your body before getting into the TUB!
Do you know Sento?
It is a public bath in Japan. Of course, these days most houses have bathrooms, but it all happened after 1964 Tokyo olympics. Therefore until then, many Japanese used to go to the boiling hot public baths to refresh themselves after a "Hard days night" for a long period of time.
It was said that Ramen(noodle), a cup of coffee and PB(Public Bath) ought to be the same price back in the olden times.
However today, since most people don't go to PB anymore, many of them are shutting down.
And to RESCUE this "Japanese sento culture", Yujiro Tube goes to PB in Omotesando called "Banana Tub"(I just call it that way...)once a week.
The entrance fee is 430 Yen.
These days, Ramen costs approx.700 yen, and a cup of coffee costs 160 yen(Veloce) to 280 yen (Starfucks....btw, why the hell did Starfucks raise the coffee price recently? Since they're so successful, they should bring the price down I think. Let's BOYCOTT Starfucks coffee, now! boyz and girlz!)
Anyways, somehow Ramen's price has boosted, and PB price is between that and coffee.
I guess most of you outside of Japan knows "ONSEN"(hot spring bath), but dunno about SENTO, right?
If you visit Tokyo, and feel like hopping into a really hot comfy bath right away, ask somebody in your hotel , or at the Koban(Poilice stn) "Sento Doco Des ka?"( Where's the PB?)
You will surely enjoy it.
Just remember, as it says on the photo, "Pls wash yourself well before getting into the tub"
If you pay 500 yen (bathing set), PB will lend you a towel, soap and a shampoo too.
Until the end of Edo period (1868), the Japanese men and women used to bath together, not anymore unfortunately!!?
Good Bath tub to u.
